Very Unique original Western Electric 40 CF candelstick telephone with the Courtesy coin box attachment . The 40CF is very similar to the 40AL. The courtesy coin box comes with a Key . They were used in the early times of 1905 and later as an honor sytem where you were supposed to drop 5cents in the coin box before use . We are selling this as a display piece for collectors and there is no subset cord hooked up to it . The phone originally was hooked up to a metal ringer subset box .
If you would like this to be a working phone I can do this for you for a small amount of extra money besides the purchase price . Our proudly display this as the last collector did . This came out of a large telephone collection in Iowaand sat in the same collection for decades
