Here is a very nice original Automatic Electric Monophone A1 cradle telephone that was manufactured in the 1920s. This particular phone is Mahagany bakelite. Mahogany was one of the colors you could special order back then.
This rather pristine telephone is rare because most of these did not have Nickel hardware Many had painted brass bands and some ebay sellers like to polish the brass handset bands which was never original. What is truly unique is the original matching nickel plated dial blank. These are very seldom seen.
Comes with the fancy braided extensi cord handset cord, There is no line cord . Will display nicely .
This is a very good example of art deco. The stylish bakelite Type 38 handset with the spitcup has had its Nickel plated bands . All bakelite has been polished to a high gloss. There is no damage or issues with this rather pristine phone.
