The single battery for sale is a reproduction of an Orange Columbia label version of the #6 dry cell battery patented in 1910 by the National Carbon Company. NCC introduced the first #6 dry cell in 1896, with a Gray or Brown Columbia label, and was the sole source of this product for the auto industry and telephone companies in the early 1900s.
This RARE Orange IGNITOR label was produced for automotive, farm, and home uses.
These batteries are configured to produce 1.5V each with two D-Cell battery holders (wired in parallel) featuring bottom access to allow easy replacement of the batteries (not included) when necessary. Potting material on the top is EPOXY. A removable PVC Cap covers the bottom. Cell dimensions (6-5/8”H X 2-1/2” Dia.) and label graphics are nominally consistent with the original battery. Cell weight is 1 lb.
