Candlestick Telephone Transmitter Washer Kit for Rebuilding WE (pre-300 series), WE 329, Automatic Electric, Stromberg Carlson, Kellogg and any other transmitters that use the diaphragm attached to the bridge assembly (see images).

These washers can be used with any manufacturer's transmitter using rubber washers with the dimensions shown in the images.

These are a replacement for old, deteriorated original rubber washers that have crumbled to bits or turned rock hard on the metal diaphragm over time. If not sure if rubber washers are used in your transmitter, please open your transmitter and visually verify the washer type used.

The rubber washers sit on both sides of the diaphragm (as shown a listing image) and the single wax embedded paper washer is placed on the metal faceplate to keep the front rubber washer from binding to the face plate over time. These parts are made with materials similar to the original transmitter parts.

This washer kit will restore sound quality to these transmitters. These have been purchased and used by seasoned candlestick restorers and have been reported to work well to restore transmission quality lost due to a degraded or deteriorated original diaphragm washers.

These washers will only work for the type of transmitter shown in the exploded image.

Background: These rubber washers are used in candlestick transmitters between the front of the diaphragm and the faceplate and held on to the back of the diaphragm by two 3/8" wide spring clips. This washer kit can be used with Kellogg, Automatic Electric, Stromberg Carlson, 200 series WE transmitters, the WE 329 which is the insulated version of the WE 229 and any other manufacturer's transmitter using rubber washers with the shown dimensions.
